Linux Deploy
Information:
'Linux Deploy' is open source software for quick and easy installation of the operating system (OS) GNU/Linux on your Android device. The application creates a disk image on the flash card, mount it and install there OS distribution. Applications of the new system are run in a chroot environment and working in parallel with platform Android. All changes made on the device are reversible, ie the application and components can be removed completely. Installation of a distribution kit is carried out on a network from the official mirrors online.
Tutorial how-to:
1. Launch the app
2. Press the 'Download' icon in the lower right corner
3. Select 'Distribution' as "Kali Linux" (Kali Linux is the new BackTrack!)
4. Leave the rest of the settings as default (easiest), unless you know what you are doing
5. Select 'Install' (Under 'Action', top choice). Then press 'OK' at the prompt
6. Kali Linux will begin installing (this could take a while). Connect to a wifi network for best performance, as Kali OS is a large file.
7. Once completed, select 'START' to start Kali OS
8. Linux Deploy has started a VNC and SSH server. You can connect to the Kali remotely using the IP address assigned to your Android device (go into the networking section of the Android settings app if you are unsure).
9. You can use either a SSH or VNC client to access Kali Linux. The VNC password is 'changeme' and the SSH credentials are 'android' for the username (configured via Linux Deploy) and 'changeme' as the password. To VNC from your device, download a VNC client, set your IP address as the host, and 'changeme' as the password.
Requirements:
1. Android 2.1+
2. Root Access
3. 5+ GB of free SD Card space
4. A supported ROM and kernel (a list of KNOWN working ROMs and kernels are available on the developer website. Just because yours might not be listed doesn't mean it won't work.)
